GCHS Marching Band

Marching Band is the most visual element of our band program. The Band performs locally for school events including home football and basketball games, pep rallies, and other post-season athletic events, and is one of the featured marching bands in the community for activities such as the city of Mayfield’s Annual Holiday Parade.

The Marching Band’s exciting, but rigorous, schedule begins in the summer with Band Camp and lasts through most of the fall semester, as the band rehearses diligently to prepare and perfect the year’s Marching Show. Because of the competitive nature of this group, extra rehearsals, performances, and trips are involved with this program during the marching season. The Band annually participates in competitions throughout the state.

Color Guard is an integral component of the Graves County Band program. Students participate in the fall program, emphasizing performance skills in movement and dance, along with the pageantry of flags, rifles, and sabers. The group also participates in an organized Winter Guard program during the school year. The majority of our Color Guard members also participate in the Concert Band program.
